The first legal Whiskey distillery in Houston became operational in 2010, named after a folk heroine and nestled smack dab in the middle of the city. Yellow Rose Harris County Straight Bourbon Whiskey is not your usual Rye. It’s Texan right to its core, adding tasty layers to that classic Rye spice. Double pot-distilled and hand-made in Houston, it’s made from 100% Texas-grown grains. The mash bill consists of Yellow Corn, Elbon rye, and San Jacinsto Malted Barley. This dram then spent 30 months patiently waiting and enduring the southern Texan heat and humidity. It came out at 92 proof, showcasing the Texas terroir and adding an underlying sweetness with flavors of vanilla, caramel, and coconut to that typical Rye spice.
